Chandler was born in Memphis to Reene and Fred Chandler. She had a brother called George, who unfortunately lost his life due to suicide. This took a toll on Chandler’s mental health and made her became a huge supporter of mental health and suicide awareness, and education.

Being a part of FOX13 has been a dream come true for Chandler since she is following in her mother’s footsteps. Her mother appeared on George Klein’s Talent Party in that same studio half a century ago. Family means a great deal to Chelsea, so having the opportunity to stay home is a blessing she deeply appreciates.

Before her tenure at FOX 13, Chandler served Tegna for 7 years. She started as a feature reporter, then moved to traffic anchor, and was eventually promoted to fill-in anchor and weekday morning and midday meteorologist. During her time there, she broadcast countless severe events, outbreaks, and snow and ice events.

Chandler’s career started at WMC Action News 5 as a traffic anchor. After being out of action for a year due to an accident, a call related to the FIFA World Cup came, transforming her life. She started co-hosting a sports talk radio show with Alum Earle Farrel, a former FOX13 journalist. This experience assisted her in securing a position with the Phoenix Suns and ultimately led to her covering the Grizzlies. She has worked as a sideline reporter for ESPN for Tiger Basketball, color commentary for an international tennis match, and as well as a home renovation show.
