Before joining WLS ABC 7, Chatman worked as a consumer investigative reporter at an NBC-owned station in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, from August 2016 to September 2019. She worked as a business reporter at WDRB in Louisville, Kentucky, before moving to Texas. She launched her broadcasting career at WEEK/WHOI-TV in Peoria, Illinois. In Illinois, she worked as a multimedia journalist, fill-in anchor, and weather anchor.
Besides her broadcasting work, Chatman is a published author. In 2022, she published her first book, “Mia Gets Sick, But Doesn’t Quit.” She developed the children’s book amid the ongoing pandemic to encourage children never to give up.
