Before arriving in Los Angeles, she worked in Charlotte, North Carolina at WCNC as an evening anchor and reporter.

Since relocating to Los Angeles, she has taken Spanish classes to communicate better with the diverse community she serves.
After graduating college, she landed a reporting job in South Bend, Indiana. There, she served ABC57 as a multimedia journalist and won her first Emmy nomination for her report during a winter storm. While searching for warmer weather, she went to Charlotte, North Carolina where she served NBC Charlotte as a weekday evening anchor and reporter for three years.
Besides news, Brown has a passion for kids. During her time in Charlotte, she was a weekly volunteer at Levine Children’s Hospital. During her time working as a Child Life Specialist, she aimed to make children happy and comfortable during their stay. In SoCal, she volunteered in Patient Relations at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena.
