Masters works for ITV Cymru Wales, he started working for ITV in 2010 as the ITV political editor for Wales, Masters covers all political news for Wales at Six, a nightly news program, and Sharp End, a specialized political discussion program, both on Thursdays. During the 2015 General Election, he presided over the discussions on ITV Wales.

He was listed by Wales Online as one of the top fifty most significant Welsh people on Twitter in June 2015. Masters was a candidate for Welsh Political Journalist of the Year at the Wales Media Awards in February 2017.
