Andrew Clarke Arrested/Stalking

On January 22, 2023, Clarke was arrested for second-degree stalking, a crime punishable by not more than six months in jail and a $3,000 fine. He was booked into the Dothan City Jail just after 11 p.m., just a half hour after he appeared on WDHN’s 10 p.m. newscast.

Dothan police Lt. Ronald Hall said that the victim’s report was taken by a patrol officer, obtaining the warrant through the municipal court. The victim said that Clarke often visited the restaurant where she works, requested her table, and would proceed to stay there for hours. In addition, he would appear in the parking lot of her apartment complex. Neither of them knew each other, nor did they have any kind of relationship.

In March 2023, the stalking charge against Clarke was dismissed; as part of his dismissal, he was to pay $200. According to John C. White, Clarke’s attorney, the case never made it to trial because it lacked merit. John also described the dismissal as justice that allows Clarke to move on with his life after the incident. Clarke has not been on air since his arrest, despite WDHN News Director Glen Horn saying that he would return on air Friday.
