Flores’ father, Ernie Flores, Jr. is of Filipino descent. He worked for the Arizona Republic and San Diego Union newspapers, thus making him the first Filipino journalist to work there. He also founded a community newspaper named “The Filipino Press” in 1986 in the San Diego region.
Aside from his father, his cousin, Suzie also works as a journalist. He works for KQED in the Bay region as a reporter and host. Moreover, his grandfather worked as a journalist in the Philipines. Flores grew up in San Diego where he snowboarded since he was 15 and played baseball since he was 5 years old. Moreover, he has an elder sister who works as a chiropractor. He regularly posts his mother on his Instagram account suggesting that they have a close relationship. His mother raised them as a single mother.

Flores works for KCNC CBS Colorado as a morning anchor. He joined the station in 2023. Previously, he worked for KCPQ Fox 13 Seattle as a morning anchor and reporter from 2016 to 2023. Before KCPQ, he worked in the San Francisco Bay region at KTVU as a morning reporter and anchor for “KTVU Mornings on 2.” Further, he worked for Fox 5 San Diego as a general assignment reporter for 3 years. He worked in the Tri-Cities at KVEW Your Local ABC TV as a reporter and anchor for 2 years.
During his over 20-year career, Flores has earned nominations for an Emmy award and broadcasted multiple breaking news and big news stories. His most unforgettable interviews are those where people give him their trust during hard times. He first appeared on TV when he was in the 4th grade. At the time, a news reporter was doing a community story about his school in San Diego. When he graduated college, he worked in eastern Washington where he broadcasted Washington’s wine industry.
