In this role, he broadcasts big regional franchises, including the Las Vegas Raiders (NFL), Vegas Golden Knights (NHL), and the Las Vegas Aces (WNBA). When he initially joined the station, he worked as the main sports anchor. After traveling the nation for almost 8 years in pursuit of the perfect job in the perfect location, he returned to a city he loves, Las Vegas. A typical guy, he grew up playing many sports while growing up and saw his future being around the games he’s always loved. However, he never knew it would be in this capacity.

Immediately after finishing his undergraduate studies, Salmond moved to Atlanta. There, he landed his first job in sports media at CNN Sports Illustrated, a 24-hour sports network. He spent his two years there learning the business and dreaming about being a “star.” He then landed his first on-air job as an anchor and reporter for KPAX CBS in Missoula, Montana.

Following his tenure in Montana, Salmond made many stops along the way, highlighted by broadcasting some of the biggest sporting events in the nation. He feels blessed to have witnessed first-hand the worst play call in Super Bowl history during the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory over the Seahawks, where head coach Pete Carol threw the ball instead of giving Marshawn Lynch a try from 1-YARD OUT. Also, he has broadcast the Frozen Four, UFC, the NBA All-Star, MLB playoffs, the Final Four, the BCS Championship, and big-time Championship Boxing.

Some of Salmond’s favorite stops were in New Orleans at WWLTV, where he learned how to eat great food and gain weight. He also squeezed in time to broadcast LSU, the Saints, the Pelicans, and big-time high school football. In addition, he worked at Fox 25 in Boston, Massachusetts. There, he broadcast the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox. Moreover, he worked in Las Vegas at the Review-Journal during the Vegas Golden Knights’ Stanley Cup run.

Salmond is no stranger to Las Vegas, having spent 4 years as the weekend sports anchor and reporter at KTNV. During that time, he broadcast the rise of Floyd Mayweather, the NBA’s only All-Star weekend appearance, and the UFC in the fight capital of the world. He was forced to leave Sin City when the local ABC affiliate decided to stop broadcasting sports full-time. After leaving Las Vegas a single man, he now returns to the region a family man with big market experience. He hopes to make Las Vegas his last stop in television.
