Before joining the station, he worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KSLA-TV in Shreveport, Louisiana. He also worked as an anchor and reporter at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Piekos worked as a broadcast associate for CBS News in New York. There, he assisted in coordinating logistics for guests featured on “CBS This Morning.” Moreover, he worked for KOMU in Columbia, Missouri, where he anchored on weekend evenings and produced several weekday newscasts.
Piekos is familiar with the dangerous elements of reporting, as he has extensively broadcast several natural disasters and severe weather events, like Hurricane Ida in New Orleans and Hurricane Harvey in southwest Louisiana.
