During her time in Missouri, Coleman broadcast events in Ferguson, Missouri, after the death of Michael Brown. She was one of the first journalists on the ground during the riot days after the shooting and killing of the unarmed teenager. She traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, to cover Brown’s parents as they testified before the United Nations Committee Against Torture.
