When she joined the station in 2008, she anchored the 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts before joining Connecticut’s only “All Local All Morning” news team. Erika Arias Career
Arias works as a weekday morning news anchor for FOX61 News. When she joined the station, she anchored the 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts before joining Connecticut’s only “All Local All Morning” news team. Her journalism career started at WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island. There, she provided coverage for some of the biggest breaking stories, including the fire at the Station nightclub in West Warwick. In addition, she was the only local news reporter who interviewed the survivors live inside the hospital. As a result, she won an Emmy Award for the story coverage.
After working in WPRI, Arias moved to Las Vegas, where she worked as an anchor and reporter for Sinclaire Inc. There, she covered the Bellagio blackout, the capture of “the Ohio sniper,” and the Ted Binion murder re-trial. She has also interviewed figures like Nikki Hilton, Anna Nicole Smith, Robert Redford, and Kobe Bryant. Furthermore, she got the opportunity to appear in the movie “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous,” where she played the role of a local news anchor. After Las Vegas, she moved further west to Southern California and took a short break from the news business.
Arias then worked for FOX News Media in Southern California as an entertainment correspondent. There, she reported on entertainment events, including “American Idol.” She delivered live news, interviews, and reports for FOX stations all around the country, including Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
