Hannah Flora Career
Since September 2024, Flora has owned Chef Hannah Flora Enterprises LLC. If she’s not working as a private chef, she works as a column writer for Golf Kitchen. She started cooking professionally at the age of 15 in a small local restaurant outside Chicago. She took cooking, pottery, art, dance, and painting classes in and out of school.
After falling in love with cooking, Flora decided to challenge herself in the kitchen by merging cooking and art. She fell asleep watching The Food Network and Iron Chef, wondering how they created such amazing dishes. She then took it upon herself to teach herself how to be an excellent celebrity chef like them.
Flora earned recognition early in her career by winning several awards and medals in various competitions. She was taken under the wing of Master Chef Peter Timmins at the Everglades Country Club in Palm Beach, Florida. She then moved to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, where she spent 4 years helping build new restaurants and kitchens on the Island and networking with local farms.
Flora harvested oysters from Vineyard Sound and learned how the Martha’s Vineyard Mushroom farm grows their shiitakes in Chilmark. She has received promotions during her career, serving as the first executive chef at the age of 28 locally in Florida at Mizner Country Club. She then worked as an executive sous chef at Addison Reserve Country Club.

Flora competes in Chopped: Castaways, which premiered on May 12, 2026, at 9|8c on Food Network. Hosted by Ted Allen, the show follows 12 chefs, including Flora, on a remote island as they finish physical challenges to earn basket ingredients and cook on an open flame, all with a $100,000 grand prize on the line. It features the judges Marcus Samuelsson, Gabe Bertaccini, and Maneet Chauhan.
