Berry works as a co-anchor of CBS News Miami weeknights at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. In addition to that role, he is the solo anchor of CBS News Miami at 7 p.m. When he joined the station, he initially worked as the station’s main sports anchor and sports director before transitioning to the morning news anchor desk in June 2008. He started his career with CBS in April 1994 when he joined WBBM-TV in Chicago as a sports anchor.
Berry launched his broadcasting career in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he started his tenure as a reporter trainee at WBTV. He later progressed to being a weekend anchor and reporter. From Charlotte, he relocated to Washington, D.C., where he was a weekend anchor for WJLA before transitioning to sports. He then became the main sports anchor for WSVN in Miami.
Berry has earned five Emmys during his career. He serves as a member of the Silver Circle of the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Besides his work on TV, he supports charities that provide mentorship programs. Also, he was inducated into his alma mater, Northwestern University’s Hall of Achievement.
