Before working as a Washington correspondent, Biertempfel worked at CB42 as the Alabama state capital reporter. There, she reported on the competitive open seat in the U.S. Senate race and redistricted special session after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the state congressional map. She also covered the Dadeville mass shooting and the tornado devastation. Additionally, she broadcast major visits to Alabama by the president, vice president, and cabinet members.
