Albert works for WCVB-TV as a journalist with a Peabody Award who oversees the Hearst Television National Investigative Unit in Washington, D.C. He joined the station in June 2018. Before joining the station he was a Broadcast Journalism Instructor/Consultant at Vietnam Television Network (VTV).

He has worked as a journalist for more than 20 years, and throughout that time, he has been known for his original reporting and investigative stories that he has published both domestically and abroad.

He has contributed to the CBS Evening News, CBS Sunday Morning, CBS Saturday, and CBS News Radio during his three years as a network-affiliated freelance journalist. Along with teaching journalism students at Northwestern University and journalists in Pakistan and Vietnam, he also founded and served as editor-in-chief of a news company.

For his year-long, five-part investigation into the death of a sailor in Iraq, which prompted the U.S. military to alter how it follows the remains of every American serviceperson killed abroad, Mark was awarded the George F. Peabody Award, the highest distinction in broadcast journalism.

Additionally, Mark has won numerous honors including the Premack Award for Excellence in Public Affairs Reporting, six regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, twelve regional Emmy Awards, the Michigan Bar Association’s Excellence in Legal Journalism and the Advancement of Justice Award, and numerous other awards from the National Press Foundation and the National Press Club.

National recognition for Mark’s work at Hearst Television includes a Telly Award for his hour-long series and special “Hate in the Homeland.” ‘Sucked In America’s Vaping Epidemic’ has received both the Excellence in Financial Journalism Award (NYSSCPA) and the Al Neuharth Award for Innovation in Investigative Journalism (NLGJA).

Hacking Your Health, his study of cyberholes in the healthcare industry, also won a New York State Society of Professional Journalists Excellence in Financial Journalism Award. The Society of Professional Journalists gave Mark its ‘Correspondent Award’ for the best reporting from Washington, DC, for an audience outside the Beltway for three years in a row (2019, 2020, and 2021).
