Mike has received several Emmy nominations during his time as a general assignment reporter at KGW. He has written about innumerable significant stories. He covered the Kyron Horman disappearance, which attracted widespread media interest.
Mike was dispatched to Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2011 to cover the Oregon Ducks’ National Championship game, but he was unable to spend much time there.
In order to cover the mass shooting at the town hall meeting hosted by the late Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, he was sent to Tucson. The incident, according to Mike, was one of the most challenging things he has ever had to report on.
Mike experimented with radio and television during his time in college. He oversaw both the news and sports departments of WIUS, the school radio station. His favorite memory is announcing an NCAA tournament game between Indiana and Alabama on Boston’s renowned parquet floor.
