Miranda won his second Emmy for his coverage of Superstorm Sandy in 2012. One of the most intense and difficult weather events of Miranda’s career, he played a crucial role in the comprehensive coverage of Sandy generated by Storm Team 4, working nonstop to inform and update the audience. Miranda won his first Emmy for covering Hurricane Irene a year ago.

Beginning in 2007 as a weather intern, Miranda worked his way up to production and on-air positions at NBC 4 New York. Miranda has anticipated and seen several extreme weather events while working at NBC 4 New York, including the month of February 2010 when New York City got more than three feet of snow in a single month, breaking the previous record.

He also covered the Blizzard of 2016, which established a record for the amount of snow that fell in Central Park in a single day, and the 2011 Halloween snowstorm that left thousands in the Tri-state area without electricity.
