Baichwal won an Emmy for Best Anchor in the Chicago/Midwest region from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2008. Ever since, he has won multiple awards for his reports, recently receiving a regional Emmy nomination for his coverage of the mass shooting in Highland Park.

Before his tenure at ABC7, Baichwal worked at CTV News, Canada’s No. 1 news organization, as an anchor, reporter, and host. He hosted “CTV Newsnet Morning with Ravi Baichwal,” reported for CTV National News, and anchored and hosted premier network shows, such as Canada’s No. 1 newscast, “CTV National News.”

While at CTV News, Baichwal earned a national reputation for smooth coverage of live, breaking news. Also, he provided coverage of the fast-changing world of politics and hosted two award-winning election-night specials.
