He enjoyed broadcasting the Marlins, the Miami Hurricanes, the Heat, and the Dolphins. He is now thrilled to provide coverage for the Packers and their fans.
Burks is familiar with the Midwest, having launched his career in the Chicago area while still in college. His determination allowed him to cover Bears games. He first visited Soldier Field with a neighbor’s camcorder. He then interned at WMAQ-TV, where he was given his own NBC crew to broadcast the games. Later, he relocated to Comcast, where he broadcast high school football and basketball. Besides enjoying covering high school players, coaches, and families, he also honed his own unique style.
Following his tenure at Comcast, Burks joined FOX Sports Net Chicago. There, he provided coverage for the Cubs, Sox, Bears, and Bulls. He then worked as the weekend sports anchor for the CBS affiliate in Saginaw, Michigan. During his tenure there, he covered the Michigan, Michigan State, and the Detroit Pistons beat. In addition, he went to the NFL Draft in New York when a high school player from Saginaw became a high draft pick at the time. He spent one week in New York and had the time of his life.
