She was the first tri-state television reporter to gain a one-on-one interview with Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing Connecticut mother Jennifer Dulos, in July 2019. Major broadcast networks, national print newspapers, and foreign news agencies often mentioned the exclusive interview, which garnered worldwide notice.

While in college, she worked as a news assistant at KNBR. After graduating from college, Sarah worked for the Fresno-based KMJ-TV as an anchor and reporter.
