Parsons works as a morning anchor for Good Day Oregon on KPTV FOX 12 Oregon. In this role, she anchors mornings from 5 to 11 a.m. with Kimberly Maus, Andy Carson, and Tony Martinez. Aside from prioritizing providing breaking news and significant information, she enjoys the candid moments that often lead to laughter with her work family on the set each day.
Once a night owl, Parsons is now a proud early riser to meet her morning schedule on FOX 12. This schedule has also allowed her a quiet house to herself on weekends as her family sleeps in, letting her binge-watch all of the shows that come on after her bedtime, in peace!
Parsons launched her broadcasting career at KSTU-Fox 13 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She’ll always remember the moment during her internship when her News Director asked if she could report. After giving an affirmative, she started reporting while simultaneously substituting as a teacher to pay the bills. After the end of her internship, she officially joined the station as a reporter. She was later promoted to weekend anchor before debuting KSTU’s first morning newscast.
Parsons relocated to Portland in 2000 with her family and spent the first 13 years anchoring the 10 O’Clock News with Wayne Garcia on FOX 12 Oregon. Next, she transitioned to late nights before moving to early evenings as the solo anchor of the 5 and 6 O’clock newscasts. She eventually returned to the morning desk, joining the Good Day Oregon team.
