Wolford works as an anchor and reporter for KSNV News 3. The five-time Emmy Award winner was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2006. He has worked as a broadcast journalist for over 35 years, including two decades in Las Vegas.

Wolford launched his career at WFTV-TV in Orlando, Florida. There, he worked as a news producer and writer before he was promoted to mornings, then weekend anchor. Following his stint at WFTV, he worked for WKMG-TV (WCPX-TV), Orlando’s CBS affiliate. There, he was one of the youngest weeknight 6 & 11 p.m. news anchors in the country.

After working in Orlando, Wolford headed north, where he served WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. There, he earned two Emmy Awards on the news/talk show, “Live on Five.” During his 3-year stint on the show, he interviewed celebrities such as Charlton Heston, Jimmy Buffet, John Ritter, Ozzie Osbourne, Jay Leno, and Grace Slick.

Wolford moved back to Florida as the weeknight anchor for WPEC-TV in West Palm Beach. While working there, he provided coverage for two of the biggest stories of the decade: Hurricane Andrew and the first Persian Gulf War. He also did a chain of reports about first-hand accounts of Iraq’s SCUD missile assaults from Tel Aviv, Israel. Moreover, he served as the field anchor for the station’s live broadcast of 25 Space Shuttle Launches from the Kennedy Space Center.

Following his tenure in South Florida, Wolford went to Southern California, where he anchored the 4 p.m. newscasts for KABC-TV in Los Angeles. There, he covered the destructive Northridge Earthquake and the O.J. Simpson murder lawsuit. His career then took him deeper into the region as the primary anchor for KGTV-TV in San Diego.

Wolford spent a couple of years on the West Coast before returning to South Florida as the primary weeknight anchor for CBS-owned WFOR-TV in Miami. He worked there for 5 years, earning his third Emmy. Also, he filed live reports from the Johnson Space Center in Houston, after the Space Shuttle Columbia crisis. He earned his fourth and fifth Emmys in Las Vegas for breaking news broadcast on the 1 October shooting and the “Invasion of Area 51.”

Wolford has flown in the backseats of multiple USAF and Navy jets while broadcasting the U.S. Military, including an F-16B Falcon, FA-18 Hornet, TA-4 Skyhawk, and a T-38 Talon. He has also had the chance to land on the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to cover the U.S. Naval training operations based out of Coronado Island.
