Tammy Ly Bachelor in Paradise Season 7
Following her elimination on The Bachelor Season 24, Ly returned to the franchise in 2021 as a contestant on Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 in 2021. Upon arriving at the beach, she initially developed a strong connection with Aaron Clancy. The dynamic changed with the arrival of Thomas Jacobs, with whom Clancy had unresolved drama from Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette Season 17 in 2021.
Despite Clancy’s warning, she pursued her connection with Thomas and had a make-out session on a daybed within Clancy’s view. Feeling betrayed, Aaron confronted Ly on her decision to pursue Thomas, warning her that she would regret choosing Thomas since “he’s not a good person.” She still gave Thomas her rose at the next ceremony. Her connection with Thomas collapsed when former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin arrived, whom Thomas ultimately chose, leaving Tammy without a rose. She departed from the show during week three. The elimination was particularly difficult because it fell on her birthday, stating that their breakup was “10 times worse” than getting COVID on her birthday the previous year.
After the show, Ly said that she had “zero regrets” about her choices, stating she would rather be vulnerable and follow her heart than stay in a connection that wasn’t working. She also pushed back against the narrative that she owed Aaron loyalty, emphasizing that the premise of Paradise was to explore multiple connections and that she did not belong to anyone. She also called out the double standards and questioned why women were still being harshly judged for exploring multiple connections in a dating show. In May 2022, she announced her decision to distance herself from the Bachelor franchise, describing the experience as feeling “used and not prioritized.”
Tammy Ly The Bachelor Season 24
Ly initially gained recognition for starring in The Bachelor Season 24 in 2020. On the show, she competed for the heart of Peter Weber, a Delta Air Lines pilot. However, she was eliminated during week 6. She joined the show because her busy work life kept her away from dating, and she couldn’t find someone who could keep up with her ambitious nature in Syracuse. She hoped to find a partner who could give her the work-life balance she needed.
