Lammers works as a weekday anchor for FOX61 from 6 to 11 a.m. He was promoted to that role in September 2011, after working as a sports and news anchor, reporter, and producer for almost 10 years. Since joining the station, he has worn multiple hats from producer, anchor, reporter, to videographer in the sports department, as well as being a news feature and health reporter.
While in the sports department, Lammers mainly focused on the rise of the UConn Football program to national respectability, including the program’s first-ever BCS Bowl bid and a trip to Glendale, Arizona, for the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. Moreover, he covered the UConn Men’s Basketball team’s third National Championship during the 2012 Final Four in Houston, Texas.
While at FOX61/CW20, Lammers served as the field anchor for special events like the Manchester Road Race, Travelers Championship, and Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Moreover, he has emceed for numerous organizations’ charity fundraisers, including the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Connecticut Chapter, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut, Trinity Health of New England, and United Spinal Association’s CT Chapter.
As a health reporter, Lammers shared his own challenge in finding treatment for a rare degenerative bone disease called Avascular Necrosis, which he suffers from. This story involved him getting a stem cell transplant using his own bone marrow on camera, and it was nominated for an Emmy Award. From then on, it has received feedback as people from all over the world inquired about the procedure and the disease.
