When the pandemic struck in 2020, Wendy started her mental health franchise, where she went into great detail about the Florida resources available and how social media is affecting our children.
She keeps bringing up the factors that contribute to suicide as well as the several groups fighting the stigma associated with discussing mental health.
Prior to that, Wendy concentrated on restaurant inspections for her Emmy-nominated franchise, “Dirty Dining.” Numerous tales have been discussed on Good Morning America, 20/20, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO. Through Florida’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Department of Agriculture, and CDC, she conducted innumerable investigations about food safety inspections.
Wendy has participated in the Emmy Award-winning ‘Taking Action Against Domestic Violence’ campaign and Prime-time Special for more than ten years. In the past 20 years in the Bay Area, Wendy has also covered significant hurricanes, providing live, ongoing coverage of Hurricanes Charlie, Francis, Ivan, Jean, Irma, Ian, and most recently Hurricane Idalia.
In addition, she has covered numerous years of live coverage of the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon and other significant regional events, such as the World Series appearances of the 2004 Tampa Bay Rays and the 2008 Tampa Bay Lightning, the 2012 Republican National Convention, and others.
Over the course of her career, Wendy lived in Los Angeles for over ten years. For KWHY-TV, The Business Channel, she was a reporter and anchor who covered the financial markets and conducted interviews with prominent CEOs from around the world.
Almost ten years of Wendy’s career were spent in Los Angeles, California. She covered the financial markets and conducted in-depth interviews with leading CEOs around the nation while working as an anchor and reporter for KWHY-TV and The Business Channel. She later relocated to Miami in order to debut her own national program with Net Financial News.
Additionally, Wendy covered the Middle East peace process for a national cable network that specialized in global topics. After her personal experience with MRSA was videotaped and went viral on Facebook as it was happening, Wendy was covered in “Broadcasting and Cable Magazine.” Her professional life has also been covered by Tampa Bay Parenting and Creative Loafing magazines.
