Brown works as an anchor for ABC 7 Eyewitness morning newscasts from 4:30 to 7 a.m., a streaming show at 7 a.m., and the 11 a.m. weekday newscasts. He regularly reports on the Bud Billiken Parade, the largest African American parade, and the second largest parade in the United States. In addition, he is a featured host of ABC 7’s New Year’s Eve special, Countdown Chicago. He is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

While at ABC 7 Eyewitness, he extensively covered the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series Championship win. Moreover, he anchored live from natural disasters, narrating stories of people in Coal City and Fairdale, Illinois, after the tornado ruined their hometown. He has also produced multiple series for ABC’s morning newscast, such as “Chicago Uncovered,” offering exclusive access to off-limits Chicago landmarks and hidden buildings.

Aside from being an anchor and reporter, Brown worked as the host of ABC 7’s Pride Parade broadcast, the Columbus Day Parade, and the 60-minute syndicated national feature, The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. Also, he has emceed Chicago (DCASE) events like the 2019 Gospel Music Festival, 2018 Summer Dance Celebration, and Disney-sponsored Boys & Girls Clubs Midwest Youth of the Year gala.

Brown hosted the Chicago Police and Firefighter graduation ceremonies and has worked with multiple organizations in the region to provide help and reassurance to youths at risk on Chicago’s South Side. After joining ABC 7, he volunteered to join the U.S. Navy Blue Angels at the Air & Water Show. He persevered the ordeal spectacularly yet joked, “Riding in a jet travelling at 700 mph was quite a thrill…..a thrill I won’t be undertaking any time soon.

Before joining ABC 7, Brown worked at CBS News as an anchor and correspondent from 2009 to 2014. There, he anchored the CBS Morning News, the Up to the Minute, and was the fill-in anchor for CBS Evening News’s weekend editions. As a correspondent, he covered some of the nation’s biggest topics, such as the Boston Marathon bombing and the BP Gulf oil spill. During the healthcare reform and potential government shutdowns, he reported from the White House lawn and the U.S. Capitol. He also worked at WWBT-TV, the NBC station in Richmond, Virginia, as a reporter and anchor.
