In the mid ’70s and ’80s, Bokamper was one of the most well-known members of the world champion Miami Dolphins, where he was a linebacker and defensive end from 1977 to 1985. Following his retirement, he pursued a broadcasting career.
Bokamper worked as the host of WIOD’s Sports Talk 610 from 1992 to 1996. During that time, he also hosted the Dolphins’ pre-game and post-game shows. Between 1993 and 1996, he worked as a football analyst for Channel 33’s Sunday Night Sports Rap.
Besides his broadcasting work, Bokamper is a successful businessman and consultant. In 2008, he opened Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill, a sports bar and restaurant in Plantation, Florida.
