Before working for CBS Miami, he worked at WKRN in Nashville, Tennessee. He also worked as a reporter with the WPLG News Team from 1989 to 2004. He then spent the next 3 years as a producer for news, special projects, and the station’s Problem Solvers franchise.

Before his stint at WPLG, D’Oench worked as an anchor and reporter with WTNH in New Haven from 1984 to 1989. Moreover, he reported at WFTV in Orlando, Florida, between 1983 and 1984. He worked in New York, where he served WCBS as a reporter and morning anchor from 1982 to 1983. He also reported for WSVN in Miami from 1978 to 1982. From 1977 to 1978, he worked as a reporter at KAMR in Amarillo, Texas.
