She has worked as a journalist for KCCI in Des Moines, Iowa; KCWY in Casper, Wyoming; FOX26 in Fresno, California; and since joining ABC Action News in 2017, she has resided in Florida.
Lane has covered hurricanes, tropical storms, mudslides, wildfires, and floods throughout her career. She went to cover Hurricane Dorian’s horrifying aftermath in the Bahamas. From Hernando and Citrus counties to Manatee and Sarasota and all points in between, Wendi has covered stories on concerns throughout the Bay Area.
Lane’s favorite topics to write about include animal stories, environmental challenges, and any narrative that inspires hope and optimism. She also has a strong desire to share the experiences of soldiers in remembrance of her late father, a Vietnam War veteran who battled addiction and PTSD. She has traveled extensively and worked as a missionary in South Africa and Honduras.
