Petit visited Haiti in 2019 to cover the international jazz festival that was taking place there for a week.
Petit conducted in-depth interviews with Grammy Award-winning artists and created two in-depth pieces on how Haiti’s thriving jazz scene is bolstering the nation’s tourism sector. She is a National Association of Black Journalists member. Her interest lies in the goal of local television news, which is to provide a voice to the residents of the area by telling their experiences.
