Before that, she worked for WDHN-TV as a full-time weekday prime news anchor from May 2020 to June 2023.

During her time at WDHN-TV, Arnold solo anchored at 5 and 10 PM and co-anchored alongside Mike Gurspan at 6 PM. She also co-anchored and produced the morning show, Wake Up Wiregrass Amanda Arnold airing from 5 to 7 a.m. from May 2020 to June 2021.

After graduating college, Arnold anchored and reported in major market TV stations all over the country including Des Moines, Louisville, Baltimore, and Cleveland. Following this, she moved to Houston where she was an anchor for KHOU’s 5,6, and 10 p.m. newscasts, a position she held for 5 years.

Arnold relocated to Los Angeles from Houston due to her love of music and acting. She worked there for 5 years until Houston came calling and TV production business opportunities called from Orlando, Miami, San Francisco, and West Palm Beach.

Following the death of her partner, Arnold moved back to Florida where she served as Director of Community Relations at Boca Raton’s Hospice and Homecare By The Sea for three years. There, she evaded our South Florida hurricanes in 2004 before moving to southeast Alabama in 2005.

Arnold launched Amanda Arnold Communications and then freelanced at Dothan Magazine as a writer, speechwriter, consultant, video producer, and book editor/collaborator chiefly for political and business clients. Further, she worked as a public relations executive and fundraiser for local non-profits.

Arnold returned to school for her Master’s degree and later returned to her company’s clients. The coronavirus pandemic inspired her to move back into television news in March 2020. The pandemic made her realize that she could no longer sit on the sidelines as a viewer. Thus, she rejoined the TV business with an opportunity at WDHN.
