Loveland works for WTKR as a weather reporter for the First Warning Storm Team. She was a reporter and morning meteorologist at WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, Maine, before she joined the News 3 staff in May 2016. She predicted snowfall in feet for over three years! Her first winter in Maine was particularly snowy, with 158 inches falling.
April worked as an intern at WJET/WFXP in Erie, Pennsylvania, before being hired in Maine. Geneva, Ohio, where April was raised, frequently experiences lake effect snow. April had the chance to spend two weeks storm-chasing in the Great Plains while she was a student at Ball State. She will never forget that.
April enjoys spending time with her dog, Mojave, when she isn’t working. She enjoys eating different foods and working out. Her favorite food is sushi! Additionally, April likes to read, watch movies, go hiking, go shopping on a budget, and generally try new things.
April is ecstatic to be in Hampton Roads and to forecast the region’s dynamic and always-changing weather. Her forecasts are available Wednesday through Friday at 10 p.m. on WGNT, as well as on WTKR and WGNT on Saturdays and Sundays.
