Walsh, who anchors weekday news, was chosen by the Associated Press as “Alabama’s Best News Anchor.” The most well-known aspect of Devon’s career is perhaps the early mornings. She spent seven years anchoring WKRG News 5 This Morning before moving to Dayside in 2015 to start getting more sleep.
In 2010 and 2012, Devon received recognition from the Associated Press as “Alabama’s Best News Anchor.” Devon was then awarded “Anchor of the Year” by the Alabama Broadcasters Association in 2015 in recognition of her 2014 efforts.
Devon is ecstatic to be covering the news in her hometown. She had her first experience in the industry as a teenage intern at WKRG back in the day. Walsh began her career at WKRG as an assignment editor and reporter. She later co-anchored the evening news with Mel Showers. Before moving back to Mobile in 2008, she worked as an anchor at Fox 6 WBRC for six years, a highly regarded station.
