Professional Life

Dominic Miranda Career

Miranda works for WTHR as a sports anchor and MSJ. He joined the WTHR team in April 2023. Dom worked as the weekend sports anchor for WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida, before returning to his native Indiana.

He covered Florida State, Florida A&M, Valdosta State, and the more than 50 high schools available in Big Bend and South Georgia while he was in the Sunshine State. He misses the constant warmth and sunshine that the capital city provides, but he is overjoyed to be back home.

Prior to moving to Florida, he also lived in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he worked as a News and Sports MMJ/Anchor for WTHI News 10 from 2019 to 2021. He covered the 2020 election, the brief comeback of federal executions, and the COVID-19 epidemic in great detail.

Additionally, Dom served as the lead reporter for WTHI’s “In the Zone” and “In the Paint” high school football and basketball shows. He also covered Indiana State University athletics and featured athletes from all across the Wabash Valley. Dom discovered his love for sports broadcasting here, in the land of the Tigers and the longest-running football rivalry in collegiate athletics (the Monon Bell Classic between DePauw and Wabash).

Despite three years of football at DePauw, two concussions, and an ACL tear later, Dom was considerably more effective in front of the camera than on the field. He worked as an intern for ESPN 1070AM The Fan in Indianapolis throughout his undergraduate years, so he is undoubtedly familiar with Circle City.

Additionally, he obtained a semester-long internship with CNN Sports at CNN’s Atlanta, Georgia, headquarters. There, he had the opportunity to follow sportscasters like Andy Scholes and former Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward. His enthusiasm and love for being a TV sports anchor were born there.

He hails from Nappanee, Indiana, a tiny town 30 minutes south of South Bend, where he was raised in the fervent Notre Dame fan culture. Dom is a lifelong Hoosier who is thrilled to be covering sports in the Circle City and his home state.
