Waxler covered the aftermath of the terrible earthquake while in Haiti with the US Air Force. In addition, he has covered the Stanley Cup Finals, Super Bowls, and even the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., on assignment for ABC Action News.

Waxler worked as a sports anchor and reporter in Terre Haute, Knoxville, Louisville, and Indianapolis before returning to Tampa. Some of his career highlights include broadcasting live from the White House following the UT women’s basketball team’s NCAA Championship victory and covering the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Waxler has also been driven around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at 175 miles per hour while riding in an F-18 with the Blue Angels, proving that he is never one to wait.
