Living in South Georgia and the Big Bend has grown on him. After spending three years in Minnesota, where he hosted weekday morning newscasts for KTTC-TV in Rochester, he moved to Tallahassee in 2019. He had previously worked as a reporter for Charlottesville, Virginia’s WCAV-TV. His reporting has preserved that passion for the past. Before it garnered widespread media attention, he reported on early attempts to topple a Robert E. Lee statue.
He believes that everyone possesses the key to a gripping tale. He has to look for those. Jacob enjoys hiking, tennis, and finding a good book to read, particularly historical biographies. He has experience working for the government. In the past, he worked as a member of the Greater Rochester Rotary Club, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and volunteered at food shelves and as a reading mentor. Through Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Big Bend, he now devotes time to mentoring students at nearby schools.
