Because Jarvis interned there, his employment at WVTM represents a full-circle experience. He started his career in Albany, Georgia, then made a stop in Savannah after gaining experience in a newsroom. He lived in Greenville, South Carolina, for over four years before going back home.
Jarvis has been nominated three times so far and has shared an Emmy with teammates from prior stations.
Since this is his community of origin, he is eager to get to know it, the man said. He has always cherished Birmingham, so returning to share the tales of its residents is a fulfillment of a lifelong desire.
