Hendricks serves as a news anchor for KOSA CBS 7 News’ 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts. Hendricks began working for CBS 7 in September 2006 as the primary anchor. He previously spent thirteen years in Midland as an anchor and reporter for the NBC affiliate. For seven and a half years, he served as the sports director as well.
He is highly renowned for his dedication to the neighborhood. Jay served as the board’s past president and as co-chair of the golf committee for the National Kidney Foundation Serving West Texas. He served as a co-host for the Permian Basin Rehab Center Telethon, a board member for Senior Link Midland, and a community adviser for the Midland Junior Football Association.
Jay has been actively involved in Special Olympics, and in 1993 and 1996, he received the State Special Olympics Media Award. Additionally, Jay was honored by Special Olympics in 2003 with the Outstanding Service from a Community Leader award.
