She views it as the “blessing of a lifetime” to awaken tens of thousands of viewers on News 3 This Morning before she enters the neighborhood to look into pressing issues. When Jessica joined the News 3 team in 2010, she began telling stories in coastal Virginia and eastern North Carolina. Her most prominent work in this area involves a number of reports that resulted in the liberation of several black males who had been unlawfully imprisoned in Virginia.

She also started News 3’s “Have You Seen Me” series, which exposes stories of missing people of color whose cases have typically received little media coverage. At News 3, Jessica has also concentrated her investigative work on controversial medical practitioners, draconian jail sentences, and cold case kidnappings.

During her time at News 3, Jessica has conducted interviews with newsmakers from all walks of life, including Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott, a music star and resident of Portsmouth, as well as several Virginia governors. Following the viral success of an entertaining News 3 This Morning film, Jessica and her co-anchor were also featured live on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

During her time there, Jessica’s investigations revealed that an area with a large black population lacked fire hydrants. As a result of a series of reports, the City of Jackson installed new fire hydrants to safeguard the neighborhood.
