Brown works as an evening anchor for FOX 35 Orlando. This is his second tenure at the station, having worked here between 2011 and 2016. During his first tenure at the station, he co-anchored FOX 35’s Good Day Orlando with Amy Kaufeldt, and they were mentioned among various “Best of Orlando” lists.
Before his return to Central Florida in 2021, Brown anchored and reported for KTVI, FOX 2 in St. Louis. The Missouri Broadcasters Association recognized him as the 2020 Best Large Market News Anchor. The Missouri native was ready to start medical school in 1994, but opted to pursue his passion for news.
In 1999, Brown began working for KSPR in Springfield, Missouri. There, he anchored the morning show of a start-up newscast called The Morning Scoop. In 2003, he was promoted to evening news anchor, holding that role until 2004 when he moved to Orlando as host of The Daily Buzz, a nationally syndicated morning TV show seen in 150 cities across the country.
Brown joined KTVI, FOX 2, in 2006 as an anchor and reporter. During that time, he also hosted John Brown’s Mindset, a talk radio show on KTRS-AM. He served KTVI until 2011 and then had his first stint with FOX 35 Orlando before returning to KTVI for 5 years.
Besides his work as a TV journalist, Brown is nationally recognized as a radio talk show host, inventor, public speaker, and author. Since August 2016, he has been the president of Bib Magnets, LLC.
