He reported on a variety of stories in Erie and the tri-state area, including the COVID-19 outbreak and demonstrations against social injustice.
There he met his wife, Ebony Skinner, a Spelman College alumna, while still a student. He continued on to earn a Master of Divinity from Emory University and a Master of Science in Media from Northwestern University after realizing that he was passionate about both media and ministry.
The people Jonathan looks up to most in life are his parents. He claims that they taught him all he needed to be a good husband and guy. His interest is in telling tales that move, educate, or provoke people’s critical thinking.
Outside of work, Jonathan places a high value on being active in his religious community. He also enjoys watching sports. His favorite sports to watch are NCAA basketball and football, the NBA, NFL, MLS, and international soccer.
He grew up and was raised in North Carolina and is a devoted supporter of the Panthers, Hornets, Hurricanes, and Tarheels, in addition to the Yankees in baseball. Jonathan plays virtual games when he’s not watching sports. He is a great gamer and dares everyone to a game of NBA 2K, Madden, or FIFA.
