She will never be the same after covering so many stories. For instance, she was among the first journalists to reach the Pulse nightclub scene in 2016 following a gunman’s murder of 49 people. She had never forgotten a mother who had been looking for her daughter defeatedly.
Before moving to Orlando, she was a reporter and anchor for WFTX in Fort Myers. As a result of her investigation of the county’s EMS system, she learned about ambulance delays and communication equipment malfunctions. Her accounts led the Florida Department of Health to launch a state investigation. At WXOW in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Julie began her work as a reporter and anchor.
