During her second month at WCYB-WEMT, Hill spent most of her time broadcasting the devastating 2022 floods that tore through the region. Additionally, she broadcast the fentanyl epidemic in northeast Tennessee and NASCAR race weekend preparations.
The East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists honored Hill with a first-place Golden Press Card Continuous Coverage Award for the story, “What Happened to Charles James Givens?” In that story, she looked into the allegations that five correctional officers beat Givens to death during his time at the Marion Correctional Treatment Center.
