The couple has a set of twin boys, Tanner and Bodie, who were about a month early. Tanner weighed about 3 pounds at birth and spent two weeks at RUSH University Medical Center’s NICU. Tanner and Bodie were born on October 6, 2011, and are 14 years old. Before her tenure at NBC 5 Chicago, she spent 4 years as a traffic reporter for Nokia Media. There, she provided coverage for Chicago-area roads for WGN-TV and CLTV.
Before her time in the Midwest, Martin reported for KTXL-TV in Sacramento. She was also an anchor and reporter for KMPH-TV in Fresno. Besides her broadcasting work, she enjoys being a mother and a member of the March of Dimes Chicago Board of Directors. Following her son’s two-week NICU-stay at RUSH University Medical Center, she was inspired to use her traditional and new media skills to endorse the March of Dimes’ mission.
