In this capacity, he handles fill-in weather duties on all NBC5 newscasts and loves talking to regional grade school students about weather science. Growing up in north suburban Deerfield, he is familiar with Chicago weather, as he has had his fair share of shovelling snow during the record-setting winter of 1978 and 1979. In August 1987, he bailed water after the heavy rains.
Before his time in Chicago, Sack worked as a morning news meteorologist, anchor, and reporter at WDJT CBS 58, the CBS station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for 2 years. He worked for WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo before moving to Milwaukee. While in Kalamazoo, he received the Michigan Association of Broadcasters’ Best Weathercast Award in 1998. He also served WHOI-TV in Peoria. He holds Seals of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the Weather Association.
