She received a promotion to an on-air position in 2013. Novini won the Colorado Broadcasters Association Award for Best Feature Report in 2014, and she also won the Silver Award for Best TV News Anchor in 2015, which was given by the audience.
The Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award will be given to Novini in January 2021 for “creat(ing) a 360 view in real time of the coronavirus pandemic, with courageous and thorough reporting on the virus’s explosion in New York City.”
