Her reportage of the equality riot in downtown Nashville, where demonstrators set fire to the courthouse, won her nominations for Emmys. In the same week when she was among the first reporters in the state to cover the first COVID-19 case, on March 3, 2020, she was also recognized with an Emmy for the string of fatal tornadoes that struck Middle Tennessee.
Olmos was employed as a bureau multimedia reporter in Beaufort, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia, before moving to Nashville. She was awarded an Associated Press prize there. Olmos anchors weekend morning shows as well. She worked as an intern for ABC’s 20/20 in New York City and KCBS in Los Angeles’ investigative section when she was a student.
