Fuentes works for KGO TV as an anchor and a reporter, he joined the station in November 2021. Prior to joining KGO TV Zachary worked for KXTV, Sacramento, CA as an anchor and a reporter.
He began working at KPVM as a summer volunteer, taking calls and performing other duties that no one else was interested in. He learned there that he could be paid to travel, write, interact with others, and converse.
Most importantly, he got a firsthand look at how important journalists are to keeping the public informed and holding the powerful accountable. He returned to Las Vegas to finish his degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas after deciding that journalism was the field for him. He worked in front of and behind the camera at the Las Vegas ABC station both during his time in college and after.
Then, he was happy to answer the call from California. His most recent employment was with KXTV in Sacramento after working as an anchor and reporter at KION in Monterey-Salinas.
He covered the state’s EDD crisis, wildfires, and rallies in response to the death of George Floyd when he was there. Despite being difficult for the neighborhood, they provided a chance to show how strong a community can be when its members work together.
