Haygood works for WBRC FOX6 as a sports reporter in Birmingham. Haygood started his career in journalism at WBRC FOX6 News in 1994. Before joining the station, he worked for WNCF-TV.
Over time, Sheldon emerged as one of the city’s top weekend sports anchors. In 2019, he began the shift into news and is currently busy helping with Good Day Alabama in the morning and as the anchor for WBRC FOX6 News at Noon.

His longing to cover sports as a profession outgrew his affection for sports overall. During his secondary school years, Sheldon was engaged in group activities. His most memorable spell in TV got him a job in Midland, Texas, at KMID-TV. There, he filled in as a correspondent and end-of-week anchor. From that point on, Sheldon moved to Lubbock as Sports Chief.
Then, at that point, a proposal from Hold Up Television (presently WNCF-TV) in Montgomery, Alabama, brought him back to his home state. WBRC came thumping in 1994, and Sheldon has been here from that point onward.
