For her performance in the film, she learned to speak the Miꞌkmaq language and acquainted herself with their tribe, history, and culture.
Tarbell appeared in Beans where she played a 12-year-old Mohawk girl residing in Kahnawake in 1990 during the time of the Oka Crisis. She played Maya Thomas in Peacock’s Rutherford Falls in 2021.
