German’s career started at 6NEWS Lawrence while in high school. Following his graduation from college, he joined KLKN in Lincoln, Nebraska, as a weekend meteorologist and multimedia journalist. There, he experienced his first-ever blizzard and extreme cold temperatures, dropping below -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
From Lincoln, German moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where he worked as a meteorologist for WHAS. There, he spent nearly five years providing coverage for multiple weather extremes. Additionally, he attained vast tornado experience, including serving during the night of the catastrophic tornado outbreak in Mayfield, Kentucky, which involved multiple tornadoes across the state.
